Asymmetrical is when you have both sides of the picture balanced. Like if you were to fold it in half there wouldn't be more things on one side both of the sides would have the same amount of objects. Symmetrical is when you fold the picture in half and its almost the same. It doesn't have to be exactly the same but it should be close. I think that visual balance is important in art because it gives the picture like a tone. It also helps your eyes not be all crazy over the picture.
